In today's dynamic telecommunications landscape, customers have the flexibility to switch service providers while keeping their existing mobile number. If you're considering a switch from Jio to Airtel or Airtel to Jio, the process of porting your number is simple and hassle-free. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to port between these two prominent service providers:

Porting from Jio to Airtel:

Generate Unique Porting Code (UPC): Send an SMS from your Jio number to 1900 with the text "PORT" followed by a space and your 10-digit mobile number. You'll receive an SMS containing the UPC, which is valid for four days.

Visit Airtel Store: Locate the nearest Airtel store or authorized retailer and carry your UPC, along with a copy of your Aadhaar card or any other valid identity proof.

Complete the Porting Form: Fill out the porting form provided by Airtel. Ensure that you provide accurate details, including your current mobile number and UPC.

Submit Documents: Submit the porting form, along with the necessary documents mentioned above, to the Airtel representative. They will initiate the porting process on your behalf.

Wait for Confirmation: Airtel will provide you with a new SIM card, and you'll receive an SMS regarding the porting status. The porting process usually takes up to seven days.
